Japanese medias reported last week that Japanese customers are facing nori shortage. Harvest of seaweed farming 2018-2019 just gained a new low from pasting 46 years. Less than 7 billions of sheets (20% worst material included) can be put on market, it's at least -15% compared with the same period last year.

Japan market needs total about 8.5 billions of sheets per year, the volume gap will rely on importing from China and South Korea. However due to El Nino on the North Pacific this Feburary, harvest-loss also happened in farming areas of the other two countries. There will have an estimated 3 billions of sheets less for global market.
